Jamnagar : Part II - A Rich Heritage

For previous episode, click here Jamnagar : Part I - A Travelogue

Day 2 at Jamnagar, Tuesday, 28th February 2017.

The first thing that greets you in Jamnagar is the fighter jets of Indian Air Force flying low in the sky of Jamnagar. It was a thrilling experience to catch the glimpse of the fighter jets flying at such a low altitude. The engine’s noise from these fighter jets are so loud that the TV inside houses are not audible as long as the jets are hovering in the sky above you. This is because Jamnagar has base stations of all three wings of Defence forces of India, i.e. Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy. Geographically Jamnagar supports all branches of defence forces as it has access to the sea for the Indian Navy and a large air base due to the city’s strategic location.

Feeling Blue

I know it has been very long time since I posted the last blog, the various New Year resolutions and big talks just fell flat and I was lost in the oblivion.

Going through the most unexpected phase of my life it has taught me some sour but important lessons which I swear I will never forget in my whole life. 'LIFE GIVES YOU THE TOUGHEST KNOCK WHEN IT CATCHES YOU OFF GUARD.'

I lost my father recently and all the equations of my life just changed suddenly. My mind stopped working and I lost all the interest in life. So folks, I beg your forgiveness if you find me a little weird as I am struggling with my social abilities. I am counting on myself and the only person I look for the motivation is me, myself. This ugly turn has just left me with no choice but to push myself harder towards my goals and make every day count. The psychological distress is just adding more challenge to my daily life, the simplest day to day work which I did effortlessly before now it looks like a challenge equal to conquering Mt. Everest and that too on a daily basis.

No matter what but I will be back and I will be back stronger for sure.

Resolutions 2016

Yes, I know, there is still some time left for the year 2016 to be welcomed. But with landing into last month of the year 2015 the time is apt to introspect ourselves for how many of our resolutions have seen the light of the day. I basically do not follow such rituals of resolution making but at the beginning of the year 2015 I did make a few resolutions and to everyone’s delight I failed in most of them. Some of the resolutions were health & financial goals, getting more regular to reading books, getting more social, making new friends, etc., etc.

The Ghats of Varanasi

This travelogue is about my visit to the beautiful city of Varanasi also called as Kashi and Banaras, it is situated on the banks of river Ganges. In the summers of 2013 I had an academic commitment which took me to Varanasi. Kashi is believed to be the royal abode of Lord Shiva. The name Varanasi is said to be originated from two rivers Varuna and Assi. Varanasi is known as the cultural capital of India and is famous for its temples all around the city, Ghats, sarees, etc.

No Favorites

A very common question each one of us coming across is about our favorites, whether it is about color, number, books, movies, actors etc. everyone is having a certain favorite representing their liking for a particular thing or attribute. Often it is said that a person’s liking depict his/her personality. That might be the reason the social bonding between strangers starts with knowing the favorites of each other.

Facebook : Love - Kal, Aaj Aur Kal.

14th of May, 2014, was the day I decided to quit Facebook and bury all my contacts of so called friends of social media network. In school or college days of late 90’s the most important tool for recording history, facts and events about a person used to be ‘Friendship scrapbooks’ being shared and filled by close friends was probably the only thing under threat for possible data theft of private information.
