Jamnagar : Part I - A Travelogue

Traveling is always the most exciting part of the life where one gets an opportunity to explore and experience the unseen. But the hectic work schedule never let it happen, and what if the work itself takes you to distant places fulfilling your desires of traveling? Indeed such a job will leave you with an happy face on every such occasion.

So, this time my work took me to the beautiful city of Jamnagar in the state of Gujarat. I was accompanying two of my office colleagues for the official work and our stay in the city of Jamnagar was scheduled for around 3 days and 2 nights. We left for Jamnagar on the eve of 26th February 2017 via Saurashtra Janta Express and it was going to be a 14 hour long journey.

Our train arrived on time and it was pulled by the WDM-3A diesel locomotive.

As the decision over sending me to Jamnagar came just before few days of the journey, my tickets were booked in a different coach, never mind you can always find varied sort of entertaining individuals around you during a train travel sometimes leading to long talks on various socio-political issues or just a brawl over seats especially for that window seat.

According to Wikipedia Jamnagar is a city located on the western coast of India in the state of Gujarat in the Gulf of Kutch. It is the administrative headquarters of the Jamnagar District. Jamnagar is the fifth largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat after Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.

So the next morning we reached Jamnagar and we rushed to the hotel to get ready and reach our workplace on time. The rest of the day was eventful and was an pleasing experience to work with enthusiastic colleagues who made the work look so much fun.

One cool aspect about the people of Jamnagar is that on asking about the places of interest in and around the city they happily guided us for the various places the city is known for, the auto-rickshaw walas readily played the role of guide giving us all detailed information about the history and present significance of the city.

The day ended with hunting for good restaurants for the dinner purpose and meanwhile planning was carried on for visiting some good places of attraction in next 2 days. Later we moved towards our hotel and guess what, who was there waiting to welcome us into our rooms? Cockroaches, Bugs and Insects all over the place. We lost our mind as we assumed that this is not going to end up well and our stay has been ruined but the hotel staff was quick to offer us another room, which was in much better condition. After all inspections and assuring ourselves that the room is pest free we let ourselves slip in the bed waiting for the next day.

  1. Long Route Train Journeys are usually a test of our patience, especially when the train is running late for No reason...

But very rightly said that U can always find an entertainer besides yourself... Discussing all the Hot current topics...
    1) Some Are great Economists- Those who start topics of Demonization and GDP, as if Sir Modi consults them before drafting a policy...

    2) Some are great Politicians- start with cracking jokes on Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi and End up in Criticising PM Modi. (Buddy you need to decide, whom you Support!!)

    3) Best entertainers are Kids especially of age group 2-7 years, coz they can speak, they get annoyed fr No reason, They Play with you untill you agree with all their things, else they would be 'Kitta' with you...

    4) Some are those Dumb people who keep scolding everyone, as if they are the 'Monitor' in the Classroom, and Teacher is out....

    5) Some people are like Me, who can adjust and mix up with all the above types of people.. I believe in entertaining the Entertainer...

Rest...I am waiting for the Next Episode of your Travelouge... So that I refresh and Recall my Recent Journeys and share my Views there too....
